Fly Fishing Tips |
Stealth and Presentation
Stealth is a key component in successfully fish
a small stream. A scared fish will not bite
regardless of how good the presentation. Stay
out of the water whenever possible, and cast
from a kneeling or sitting position along the
bank. Keep false casting to a minimum, if you
must false cast, do it over land, and make the
final cast to the watery target. |

Water Temperatures
Tail
waters have relatively uniform water
temperatures through out the year. They almost
never dry up or freeze completely. Uniform water
temperatures means aquatic vegetation, and
plenty of dry fly action all year! |
|
Deep-Water Nymphing
When
nymphing deep water, hold your rod high to keep
excess line off the water and follow the
downstream progress of the line with your rod
tip, use heavy weights to slow the flies to the
right speed. |
